It's been a busy couple of weeks. We celebrated Josh's birthday last Friday (June 12th) and third our anniversary yesterday (June 17th)! It has been lots of fun! Josh had a great birthday. On Thursday night, I made him a special dinner of lasagna, crescent rolls, and veggies. I also made pecan brownies for dessert. I decorated the brownies with brownie frosting that read "Happy B-day!" The following day was Josh's birthday and he took the day off from work to celebrate. He woke up a little later than usual and I made him a special breakfast of strawberry and blueberry muffins, hash brown casserole, eggs, bacon, coffee, and OJ. He opened his gifts from Samford and I. He got a nail gun to use to make woodworking projects. He also got the "Big Bob Gibson's BBQ Book". It is a cookbook that was written by Chris Lilly who is the pit master who won all kinds of awards for Big Bob Gibson's BBQ restaurant. Josh loves Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur and loves to grill so I got him this book. Tonight at 7:00, Chris Lilly is doing a signing at Books-a-Million at Bridge Street so Josh will get to get his autograph and hear him speak. Anyway, that day we rested and played with Samford until dinner time when we had dinner at Connor's. We enjoyed it except for the fact that it was hot in the restaurant and an ant bit me in a humorous place. On Sunday, Josh's family came to celebrate with us for Josh's birthday. We enjoyed seeing them. Josh wanted to eat lunch at Big Bob Gibson's in Decatur. We ate there and had a fun time with our family. We then returned to our house and I made homemade vanilla ice cream with our ice cream freezer. It turned out really well. While the ice cream was making we took our nephew to play at the neighborhood playground down the road from our house. He LOVED it, especially the slide! After we returned from the playground, Josh opened his presents and we sang "Happy Birthday" to him. He had requested a Cookie Cake. And an Auburn Cookie Cake is what he got. We had a great day!
