I absolutely love teaching and especially teaching Pre-Kindergarten. I love working with students with special needs (3-5 year olds) as well as typically developing 4 and 5 year olds! I absolutely love my job at Legacy Elementary School, but recently God laid a new opportunity in my lap. Two weeks ago on Thursday, the special education coordinator called and offered me a job that they had created. The position is entitled "Pre-Kindergarten Lead Teacher". It is basically a dream job for me or what I think would be my dream job. I was so excited when I got the offer. I am really looking forward to the new position although I have been teaching for 5 years and am "comfortable" with what I have been doing. I will be traveling around to the school sites where the Pre-K Special Needs classes are housed. I will be working with the teachers and doing workshops for them to help them incorporate technology into their classrooms as a vital part of instruction. I will also be helping the teachers to incorporate a new curriculum into their classrooms and hopefully being a source of encouragement and a "breath of fresh air" to the other teachers. I pray that they will fill like I am someone who wants to help them and encourage them to be more effective teachers. I am excited about the new position but a bit nervous because I just don't know what each day will hold. I am excited about each day holding a different task because I have never had a job like that so that is refreshing. I pray that I will do my best in this job and will honor God in all I do. Please pray for me in this endeavor.
I am currently procrastinating as I write this blog for I am supposed to be cleaning and getting ready for lots of my family members to come to visit on Friday. We are having a family vacation at a bed and breakfast about an hour away, shopping, going to the Amish country, etc. I am trying to enjoy my last week and a half of freedom before the first teacher work day on August 4th. I hope you all are doing well! Love, Kristin
Here are some pics from our recent vacation to Memphis from July 10-12. ENJOY!
